Ceramsite is a lightweight, porous spherical particle produced by firing materials like clay or shale at high temperatures. Its internal porous structure makes it lightweight, high-strength, with excellent water retention, aeration, and thermal/acoustic insulation. Our ceramsite for plants is available in a full range of sizes, from 4-8mm to 15-25mm, for various applications. Widely used as lightweight aggregate in construction and as a soilless culture substrate, drainage layer in pots, and base layer for green roofs in horticulture. As a growing media, ceramsite supports roots while storing moisture and nutrients, effectively preventing root anoxia and rot. It is an important material in modern vertical greening and protected agriculture.
