Our expanded perlite is processed from natural volcanic glass ore. The raw ore is crushed and screened, then rapidly heated to 760–1100°C inside the expansion furnace. The internal water vaporizes and expands the ore volume up to 7–20 times, forming porous lightweight particles with honeycomb internal structure.
It is a chemically inert inorganic mineral material with neutral pH, non-toxic, sterile, weed-seed free and non-combustible. It features low bulk density, low thermal conductivity, excellent air permeability and sound absorption performance. Different particle sizes and grades can be produced for diversified markets, including coarse granules for horticulture, medium particles for thermal insulation, fine powder for filtration and filling.
It is widely used in horticultural growing media, building lightweight insulation, refractory materials, industrial filter aids, paint and rubber fillers, cryogenic insulation and sound-absorbing materials. Small bags suit garden retailers and small manufacturers, while ton bags and bulk shipments serve large nurseries, insulation factories and industrial production lines. Large orders support custom particle size screening and private-label packaging.
Important note: Fine dust may be generated during handling. Wear dust mask during operation. Not for human consumption.
Appearance features
The overall color is pure white or light grayish-white, with a clean and uniform color, free of impurities and other colors. The granules are fluffy and porous, with a light and loose texture. They have a honeycomb microporous structure, which makes them highly breathable and provides good drainage and water-repellent properties, effectively improving soil compaction.
Advantages
The product has excellent air permeability and drainage, effectively preventing waterlogging and root rot in pots.
Its lightweight and loose texture can improve compacted soil and nourish plant roots. It is odorless for indoor cultivation and has good water absorption and fertilizer retention capabilities, promoting healthy root growth. It is widely adaptable and can be mixed with various substrates such as peat moss and vermiculite.
Application scenarios
● Horticulture
Soil mix for succulents, pothos, spider plants, and flowering plants; loosens and improves soil quality.
● Seedling and Cutting Propagation
Vegetable and flower seedling cultivation, cutting rooting, and sowing substrate to improve germination and survival rates.
● Bonsai and Potted Plants
Used in combination with orchids, bonsai, and miniature landscapes to enhance root aeration.
● Engineering Insulation
Building insulation, heat insulation filling, sound absorption filtration, and auxiliary materials for horticultural and landscaping projects.
