This garnet sand is produced from high-quality raw almandine garnet ore through crushing, magnetic separation (to remove iron), washing, and precision screening; it is an eco-friendly industrial abrasive with low free silica content.

The particles are angular and reddish-brown to wine-red in color; the material features high hardness, high specific gravity, and low iron oxide impurity content.

It is primarily used as an abrasive for CNC waterjet cutting machines to cut metal, stone, glass, and composite materials; it is also suitable for surface sandblasting and rust removal, water filtration media, and precision grinding and polishing.

Important Note: This product is an industrial abrasive and is not edible. Please wear a dust mask and safety goggles during operation to avoid prolonged inhalation of dust.

Garnet sand has extremely low free silica content, making the dust generated during operation safer; it has a higher specific gravity, resulting in stronger cutting capability; it contains fewer iron impurities, so it won't cause rust stains on the workpiece; and it is partially recyclable. Silica sand has high free silica content, posing a risk of silicosis with long-term inhalation.

Does garnet sand contain free silica, and is it safe to handle?

This product is an iron-aluminum garnet with very low free silica content, making it significantly safer than silica sand. However, as it is still a mineral dust, operators must wear dust masks and safety goggles and ensure proper ventilation.

Will it scratch the workpiece during sandblasting?
