Wholesale Diatomaceous Earth Granules Natural Porous MultiSizes Horticulture Potting Medium

These diatomite granules are derived from ancient diatom fossil deposits and processed using a high-temperature calcination and hardening technique. Calcination significantly reduces dust and stabilizes the granule structure, ensuring they do not rapidly disintegrate or turn to powder when watered.

The granules feature an internal honeycomb-like microporous structure that balances drainage and aeration with moisture and nutrient retention: the gaps between granules allow excess water to drain quickly, preventing root suffocation and rot, while the internal micropores absorb water and nutrients, slowly releasing them to the plant roots. The irregular, angular shape of the granules helps maintain spacing within the growing medium, keeping the soil loose over the long term and effectively preventing compaction.

The product undergoes mechanical screening to remove dust and impurities and is available in various uniform particle sizes: 13mm, 36mm, and 69mm. It can be mixed into planting soil to improve the growing medium or used directly as a decorative top-dressing layer for potted plants.

Small packages cater to home gardening enthusiasts and DIY growers, while bulk supplies serve nurseries, greenhouse farms, garden centers, and cross-border e-commerce sellers. Large orders support customized particle sizing and private-label packaging.

    · Natural light beige/off-white hue: Derived from the raw ore's inherent color without artificial dyeing; minor variations in shade or speckling are natural mineral characteristics, not defects.

    · High-temperature calcined, durable granules with low dust: Hardened via calcination, these granules are much firmer than uncalcined diatomaceous earth; they generate minimal dust upon opening and do not turn into sludge when watered.

    · Precision-screened for uniform sizing: Available in standard particle sizes (13mm, 36mm, 69mm) with fine dust largely removed to minimize airborne particles during use.

    · Honeycomb-like porous microstructure: Dense, microscopic honeycomb poresnaturally formed within the fossilized diatom structureare visible in the granule cross-section, ensuring excellent absorption and breathability.

    · Irregular, angular granule shape: Unlike smooth pebbles, these angular granules interlock to maintain internal substrate voids, preventing the planting soil from collapsing or compacting.

    · Chemically and physically stable; resistant to decay: As mineral granules, they do not rot or degrade like bark or peat, allowing them to remain intact within the soil over the long term.

    Advantages

Wholesale Diatomaceous Earth Granules Natural Porous MultiSizes Horticulture Potting Medium 9
    01
Calcined hardening process; resistant to watering and crumbling
High-temperature curing creates a durable granular structure that withstands daily watering and soaking without breaking down into powder or clogging soil pores, offering a lifespan far superior to standard raw diatomaceous earth
Wholesale Diatomaceous Earth Granules Natural Porous MultiSizes Horticulture Potting Medium 10
    02
    Dual-action breathability and nutrient/water retention
Large pores facilitate rapid drainage to prevent root rot, while micropores absorb water and nutrients for slow release; this ensures roots aren't suffocated by waterlogging while receiving a steady supply of moisture and nutrients—ideal for plants with fleshy root systems

    03
    Effectively alleviates soil compaction
Angular granules create structural space within the growing medium, maintaining soil looseness over the long term and reducing the need for frequent repotting
Wholesale Diatomaceous Earth Granules Natural Porous MultiSizes Horticulture Potting Medium 12
    04
Natural mineral; free from chemical additives
Contains no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or hormones; safe physical properties allow for easy blending with various substrates like peat, coconut coir, and perlite. It also provides a physical deterrent against certain soil-dwelling pests
    undefined
    05
Resistant to decay and degradation; extends substrate lifespan
Mineral granules do not rot, mold, or decompose within the pot, allowing them to provide long-lasting soil improvement

    06
Versatile use for soil mixing or top dressing
Can be mixed into the soil to improve the growing medium or spread over the surface as a top dressing to prevent soil splashing during watering and inhibit moss growth

    FAQ

    1
Will the granules turn into powder with prolonged watering?
Hardened through high-temperature calcination, they do not easily disintegrate under normal horticultural watering; while minor loss may occur due to prolonged heavy crushing or trampling, their durability far exceeds that of uncalcined raw diatomaceous earth.
    2
Can diatomaceous earth granules kill insects?
The microscopic sharp edges of hard diatomaceous earth granules cause physical abrasion to certain small soil insects, providing a supplementary inhibitory effect; however, they are not a substitute for insecticides. It is recommended to use specialized pesticides during pest outbreaks.
    3
Will diatomaceous earth granules alter soil pH?
Calcined diatomaceous earth ranges from weakly neutral to weakly alkaline; it has minimal impact on the overall substrate pH and is suitable for the vast majority of horticultural plants. For plants that strongly prefer acidic soil, it can be mixed with acidic peat soil for adjustment.
    4
Can they be used while submerged in water, such as in fish tanks or hydroponic setups?
Long-term submersion is not recommended, as the pores tend to accumulate organic matter; these granules are better suited for terrestrial potted plants.
    5
How often do they need to be replaced when buried in soil?
The mineral granules do not decay and can remain in the soil for a long time; simply replace the substrate according to the plant's standard repotting cycle (every 2–3 years).
    6
Is it possible to customize particle size, packaging, or logo printing for bulk orders?
Standard stock specifications are available for immediate purchase; for large orders, we support customized particle sizing, packaging, and private-label branding—please contact customer service to discuss your project requirements.
